New Jersey….Still Has Some Good Bass..

Been a while, but I managed a solid 5lb-5oz NJ largemouth, enticed by slow waking a rat, in and around standing timber.

With the shallow vegetation being non existent this season, I am targeting the next best option available to me for bass cover: standing timber, stumps and lay downs. Sometimes it's a risky move, especially bank fishing. But you have to put your offering where the bass may be holding up. I follow a simple strategy: find and hook the fish first, then figure out how to land it.
